The Other Worlds and Karma

Universe-sky

A question that comes to mind is: “What is meant by the term Other Worlds?” I can perhaps more easily answer this question by asking what it is not. The Other Worlds is not the physical world. The Other Worlds existed before the existence of the physical world, before the material world in which humanity seems to be stuck. Those who are not conscious of the Other Worlds live in a dream world where they sleep. Sages, however, are conscious of the Other Worlds, and in that awakened state, function consciously in the Other Worlds.

The mainstream of human beings is earthbound and as such will likely laugh and ridicule that factually there are indeed Other Worlds. But those who have a sensitive heart and have had certain Other World experiences will tell you that, “Yes, the Other Worlds are a reality.”

The Other Worlds includes what the Agni Yoga Teaching defines as the Subtle World; also known as the astral plane. Its frequency is a little higher than the physical-etheric world. The Fiery World, a term extensively noted in the Agni Yoga series, refers to the higher mental plane, and beyond.

We could say that the Subtle World is water – steamy and emotional. The Fiery World refers to the world of air while the physical world is dense matter – our Earth.

700193_093The Agni Yoga Teaching is resourced from the Higher Worlds. It is in this Teaching where we find formulas to harmonize our steps with Cosmic Visions.

It is important that we recognize our earthly life is a short yet important mission in which we need to realize and live our life’s purpose and then graduate from our earthly life with honor.

Aspirants and certainly disciples of all degrees must realize that their earthly mission was inspired from the Higher Worlds – a call from the Most High – with a purpose and plan; that which they must actualize in this incarnation in a most creative manner. In other words, the creative life they had in the Other Worlds will be manifested in their earthly life.

During each incarnation on this planet, we are charged with the responsibility to bring our creative skills from the Higher Worlds – especially the Fiery Worlds – with us into our incarnations. It is not an easy thing to do, to bring back our higher realizations from the Higher Worlds and manifest them on the earthly plane. Why? Karma and a lack of consciousness.

It’s no different than dad being generic cialis australia a self-taught golfer versus having a top professional teach him the finer points of the game, like bank shots and putting english (spin) on the cue ball. karma“Karma is the energy and the law which decides the result of ones actions, emotions and thoughts.”[1]

When a person dies – his combined actions, emotions, and thoughts must exceed a certain percentage of points in order to move to the Higher Worlds. If not, he will go through to the etheric plane which holds people who committed suicide, who suddenly die and so forth and then later, depending on his karma, on to the astral plane. The etheric plane is a heavily populated plane of consciousness. For example, it is on this plane aborted children are found, children who are stuck there for many years; maybe 70-90 years.

If a person is stuck there – he is in inertia. Such a person cannot do anything there that he did not start on the earth plane. But it is nice to know that the work he started here, on earth, can be continued on in the etheric plane. Still, he must be awake to a certain degree.

As always, I invite your questions or comments.

How do we know if we are actualizing the purpose and plan in this incarnation?

  2. Dear Valarie,
I’ve been thinking about your question, nearly writing a whole Chapter of thought in my head as an answer. It ended up being a bit of a biography. So, thinking that would not be of interest to most people here on the blog – here is a simple answer written by Torkom Saraydarian. He wrote: “Once the Purpose is really felt, seen and understood, all life will be orchestrated by the Purpose.” And: “The Purpose and a sense of responsibility are inseparable. One cannot exist without the other. Whenever people turn their backs on their duties and responsibilities, it is a sign that they have not yet sensed the Purpose or they have lost it in the storm of their desires and anxieties.” And: “A sense of responsibility is born at the moment one senses the vision, is inspired by the vision, or really understand the vision. … It is only after such an achievement that people can be initiated into very responsible positions. … Sometimes it is possible that a person is aware of the Purpose in his heart, yet is unable to formulate it into words. In his heart he is on the path leading to the unformulated Purpose. Such people demonstrate a very deep compassion and patience and work with a deep sense of responsibility, demonstrating it through their sacrificial service. As years pass, such people, through their life experiences or through pressure created by those who have the vision, call out the Purpose from their own hearts and formulate It in the sphere of their mind. As time goes by, they start seeing the vision of the Purpose as if seeing the summit of a mountain above a mist. After such a moment, their life shifts into the gear of a higher dimension, and they enter the path of higher and more responsible leadership.”

  3. I was wondering, would that be the reason one would have a long career and then decide to go in a totally different direction? Example I’m thinking of is my uncle, who was a doctor and retired at 60 and went to Italy to learn to be a stone carver. For the rest of his life he made amazingly beautiful carved animals. Which career would be his purpose of life? And could one serve with more than one vision of the Purpose?
