Transmutation, Transformation & Transfiguration

I recall a shared moment with my first and most impacting astrological teacher when he talked about his frustrations. He felt very strongly after many years of teaching and counseling, that it was not possible for people to change. He was very depressed. He had many students and clients and had worked with them for several years – trying to help them change their lives, improve their lives, using the tool of astrology. He became so depressed that he decided to quit counseling and teaching. He asked me to take over his astrology students and begin teaching. So I did. Now, I wish I could contact him and tell him not to give up on helping others to change, that the Wisdom Teaching gives specific ways to bring about a change to our consciousness. It is such changes that are found when a person begins to live the transformational life.

There are three words that seem all important in living a transformational life: 1) transmutation 2) transformation and 3) transfiguration. We’ve already learned a definition for transformation, but what about transmutation and transfiguration?

Transmutation is the process of refining the energies in our lower centers which then brings new atoms to the glands and organs. This refining process builds new and more advanced cells. Transmutation is related to our physical and etheric bodies.

The energies that are coming from higher realms into our lower ethers begin to transform the shapes and forms of our centers because they carry us closer to our Archetype; our soul’s life-blueprint. The transfiguration process is different. When conditions change on that level, the level of transfiguration, the higher Cosmic Ethers replace our lower ethers. The atoms of our lower ethers enter into our physical body and become assimilated by our physical body. This is how our physical body becomes more ethereal. First, our body becomes very sensitive to light, to sound, to fragrance, and so on. Then eventually, our body becomes ethereal.

In the Fifth Initiation our physical body is totally ethereal, although we can condense it, which is sometimes called the densified astral body, so that it appears physical. At this stage – the stage of transfiguration, we have become a masterpiece.

We can manifest our ethereal body…so that it appears physical, or we can keep it ethereal and appear in different places on the planet at the same time. For example when such a person sees his or her Master, this is what happens: the Master manifests his body so that his student can meet with him in person. Other times he remains in the etheric and communicates with us from his etheric body. This phenomena is called in Agni Yoga “divisibility of spirit.” It means the advanced soul can be “anywhere and everywhere.” Sometimes people can witness the presence of a “spirit” in various locations.

These events are real, and as such, why it is so important for some of us to live the transformational life; it is a process of positive and advancing change.

  1. Thank you Joleen, this information just fills me with gratitude. How lucky we are to have this path of the soul all shown to us. We can’t put the responsibility of this labor on anyone that crosses our path, by our own hands and feet to we reach transforming ourselves to higher atoms, and higher bodies. What a glorious outlook to our future construction of light, love, and power.

  2. “The atoms of our lower ethers enter into our physical body and become assimilated by our physical body. This is how our physical body becomes more ethereal.”
What are the signs that this is happening? Are there pains, psychic occurances, or phenomenas?
    Val

    • Dear Val, I suspect the signs are different for each person, reason being that we are all typically found at different stages of spiritual development. Yet there are some general signs. In answer to your question, yes, there can be pain; much like when one undergoes a “detoxifying” of the body. This detoxification is a process which first reveals what must be changed, demands changes be made so disease does not set in, and which requires life adjustments. Yes, certain phenomena accompanies the assimilation; but again, it depends on which centers are involved and the degree of impact. I can only speak for my personal experiences, which later were compared with a handful of others who basically went through a similar event, where the head center opened. All of us initially went through a medical crisis; only to be told “we cannot find the cause of your medical problem.” The phenomena lasted, for me, two years. It was a costly (doctor bills, expensive testing, etc.) experience to only learn after-the-fact that it was a transformational experience that required some life adjustments.

  3. I had an experience this morning that I wanted to share.

I’ve been thinking about the connection between aspiration and vision, from my meditation course. This morning before really being awake, which the Teaching says this time is called the “diamond of consciousness,” a thought came to me that aspiration is a shield. So this morning I was thinking about that again during my meditation. After my meditation I decided to look in the Supermundane, book I to see what it said about aspiration. And in verse 136 I read “One should repeat without end that aspiration to Us is a strong shield.” Isn’t that great? I love when this happens.

Not only did it confirm my early morning thoughts, but it also is a reminder about the importance of aspiration and striving. For through our aspiration we are protected.
