The Sun Festivals, also called full moon cycles, mark certain rhythmic cycles during which we can become impressed by higher energies. These impressions upon our brain and aura will either inspire us, or evoke many physical, emotional, and mental problems and chaos within our life.

Many, including myself believe that there is an interactive experience between humanity and its higher octave, the higher octave understood as God, the Great One of the Galaxy, the Solar Logos; all Lights of humanity. This interactive experience takes place during the times of each full moon, the celestial cycles where the Sun is in one sign, and the moon is in its opposite sign. This month we are experiencing the interactive energies of Taurus. Where the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in Scorpio.

The Wesak Festival is named after the Wesak Valley in the Tibetan Himalayas, where the Masters Who guide Humanity gather at this time. The Festival celebrates the annual descent of the Buddha to Earth. The Buddha embodies the quality of Wisdom. He comes to bring us his blessings and to remind us of our purpose.

During each cycle of every full moon there is a moment of contact. The moment of contact occurs at the exact time of each full moon. This year 2015, the Wesak moment of contact (full moon of Taurus) occurs on May 03.

Three days prior to the moment of contact are the days that many spiritual students around the world concentrate upon right living, purification, and transformation. They begin to ready themselves by observing elements in their nature that need to be transformed such as destructive habits or habits that they believe have limited their spiritual progress. Once observed, the student begins to create methods to either eliminate the destructive habits, or establish goals to bring about a transformation and establish the next step toward freedom: freedom from maya, glamor, and illusion. When you are serving, you have worth.

The first principle is labor without limit.

The second principle of labor is acceptance of tasks without rejection.

A great spiritual teacher shared a story. He said there was a young man that was working in his office. The young man was telling others, “I worked all day. The teacher did not even say thank you. You know, three years I was there. He did not give me one gift.” Can you understand that? All my labor is wasted.” The teacher said, “Really? How pitiful you are to go through this trash in your mind, or engage yourself in a labor and two days later escape! How pitiful. What are you doing? You are really demonstrating where you are, and the Universe is not going to trust you with higher labors. You are not trustworthy. You cannot do it.” He was a no-nonsense Teacher who labored until the last month of his life.

These are two things that are very important to know – labor without limit and acceptance of tasks without rejection; without negative emotions, complaints, gossip, and so on.

If the person leaves and cannot finish it, do it yourself. These are the principles that we are going to digest in our consciousness if we are going to really understand what the labor is.

A modern Master described how the Buddha had encouraged his monks by sharing that those who practiced diligently would surely be enlightened in seven days or, if not in seven days, then in seven months or seven years. A young American monk heard this and asked if it was still true. The master promised that if the young monk was continuously mindful without break for only seven days, he would be enlightened.

Excitedly the young monk started his seven days, only to be lost in forgetfulness ten minutes later. Coming back to himself, he again started his seven days, only to become lost once more in mindless thought – perhaps about what he would do after his enlightenment. Again and again he began his seven days, and again and again he lost his continuity of mindfulness. A week later, he was not enlightened but he had become very much aware of his habitual fantasies and wandering of mind – a most instructive way to begin his practice on the Path to real awakening.

You can find many parables and many examples by holy ones; and by modern day Teachers who try to teach us the value of labor. And once we understand the value of labor we understand that all our labor, all our sweat and tears, all of our sacrifices – are not done for ourselves – but in service to the Lord.

If when you engage in easy or difficult labors you are thinking what kind of gifts of gratitude you are going to receive – you are lost.

When I was growing up and investing myself in all those many hours of labor – no one told me how special or unique I was – it was expected of me. And because it was expected of me – such endless labor taught me about the Path to illumination – that the Path to Illumination is an endless Path.. The Path to illumination bypasses the Path to Egotism. It saves you from many incarnations of suffering.

Today. Saturday, we are celebrating the energies of the full Moon of Aries, which occurred at 5:07 AM, Mountain Time, but we are still well within the time frame of it’s powerful influences.

We are also celebrating Easter tomorrow, Sunday. Easter is always established by the date of the full moon of Aries.

Easter Sunday is always established as the first Sunday following the full moon after the Vernal Equinox which was on the 20^th of March this year. I would venture a guess and say that the majority of Christians who celebrate Easter are not aware that it is determined by the sun’s passage through the Zodiac.

When we celebrate the Aries full moon, along with Easter, the combination of both Easter and the full moon of Aries provides us with a double opportunity to strive toward perfection, regeneration and resurrection.

We know that we not yet perfect, but most of us here at some point in the life of the soul made a decision to travel the path of initiation – which is the path of progressive and expanded consciousness; a most difficult but spiritually rewarding experience for the soul; rewarding, because it places us on the lighting speed evolutionary path, giving our soul an opportunity to better serve our family, group, nation and humanity. It also reduces the number of superfluous incarnations which most experience and thus makes each life as you are living 3 -4 life times at once. In order to do this, we need to strive; to surpass our present level of achievement from year to year, from one life to the next.

Disciples on this path are those who will make use of these energies as a means to graduate to the next and the next levels of consciousness until it puts them in conscious contact with their Solar Angel, the Spiritual Triad, their Ashram and Master and different stations of the Cosmic Magnet. With each progressive stage the disciple-initiate will be able to surpass his or her present level of consciousness and penetrate into the deeper mysteries of Life.

Life is given to us so that we can strive toward perfection. Imagine knowing that! This is what life is about.

We can look at ourselves today and ask “Where do I need to strive: Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually?” What is the most essential at this time in my life by which to strive. How can I find the most essential and strive in the boat of the most essential order to make myself more beautiful; physically beautiful? Emotionally beautiful? Mentally beautiful?

You must learn or further perfect your ability to be spiritually and esoterically discriminating. Discriminating so you can examine your inner and higher wills in such a way that you can spiritually advance. This is, actually, a very advanced stage of consciousness. With observation and spiritual discernment you soon learn how to detach from these inner and outer influences; the ancient past of the personality life.

Spiritual striving during each full moon, especially the three high spiritual festivals of Aries, Taurus and Gemini we learn how to be obedient to our Higher Self, the Teacher and the Master. It is through this obedience our lives become more fulfilling and free.
