Doreen Trees

Doreen Trees lives in Colorado where her spiritual journey began in young adulthood. She has been a student of the Ageless Wisdom for most of her adult life and continues to help with the work where and whenever needed. She is the mother of two adult daughters and lives with her husband, Lee, of forty years. She enjoys the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the numerous parks and places that enrich everyday life. Presently she finds happiness in taking care of their five cats, the neighborhood birds, and curious squirrels!

Her profession, alongside motherhood, has been as an Early Childhood Educator. In 1991 she became a trained Waldorf teacher and is devoted to the nature-based curriculum and environments. She has been invited to speak at events with the CAEYC (Colorado Association for the Education of the Young Child) promoting high quality education and support to all children, professionals, and families in the state of Colorado. Teaching as an adjunct faculty instructor at Naropa University has been one of her favorite experiences, in which she specialized in contemplative education, service learning and internships in the Undergraduate Education Department. Since the pandemic, this field has needed much rebuilding, and she looks forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in supporting this worthy profession in its reconstruction. More recently, she has worked in the field of eldercare and the final stages of life. The experiences with early and later life with many ages of people has enriched her understanding of the milestones of the human experience.

Doreen has traveled abroad privately and has also volunteered with ECG (Empowering Communities Globally) working with underserved schools, teachers, and families in Nepal and Bhutan. She was ECG’s V.P. and a board member. She remains an active supporter today.

Doreen Trees is collaborating with the WMEA, under Committee Chair Joleen DuBois, with translating into English and editing volumes one and two of The High Path. Doreen was also involved in the compilation of the Agni Yoga Companion, volumes 1 and 2, that provides deeper insights into Agni Yoga themes for students and researchers. The group life within WMEA brings much inspiration and insights to the life of greater service.
