Gay Hendin

I was born in Las Animas, Colorado, and moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1954, and grew up there. I was a “free-range” child, savoring and discovering the wilds of Florida in a time when the wilds were safe and in my backyard.

I was raised Southern Baptist, and along the way, even as a young child, realized that there was more. I began my spiritual search in my early twenties, and it was in Sarasota where I was first introduced to the Teachings through the White  Mountain Education Association.

In 1981, I moved back to Colorado, raised my two sons in Colorado Springs, and then moved to Prescott, Arizona, U.S.A., in 1995 to study Agni Yoga and became a member of the WMEA.

Of course, my number one interest is learning and studying the Teaching alongside my work with the WMEA. I am now retired and have the time to fully explore my creative nature and am expanding my knowledge of gardening and art. On this journey I found that I enjoyed expressing myself through abstract art as well as colored pencil drawings with a focus on the animal kingdom. It is a nice balance between detail and pure expression.

I have two grown sons and five grandchildren, all of whom I’m very proud.
